The Cedar Hill Museum of History will host the Texas Lakes Trail board meeting Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the new Traphene Hickman Library, 450 Pioneer Trail in Cedar Hill. The public is welcome to attend.
Stories of the Pioneers
Dallas County Pioneers Association President, Mike Judd, and Historian M.C. Toyer, bring Stories of the Pioneers to the Cedar Hill Museum of History Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm on the lower level of the Traphene Hickman Library. M.C. Toyer will chronical the history of the Peters Colony and Mike Judd will share stories of the area’s earliest settlers.
A descendant of Dallas pioneer Beeman and Glover families, M.C. Toyer attended schools in Wheatland and Oak Cliff, is an Army veteran and semi-retired carpenter. The Three Forks region of North Texas, which includes the Peters Colony, is his primary research interest, and he has written and published several articles on the subject.
Mike Judd is a graduate of the University of North Texas and has been a financial crimes investigator for a large downtown Dallas bank since 2007. His interest in Dallas County history led him to the Pioneer Association.

Bones, Teeth, and Other Fossil Finds
Tim Byrs, North Texas Master Naturalist and Teaching Collections Manager for the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, brings his joy of exploring and his 10 years of experience helping care for 200+ invertebrate species found in Texas, to the Cedar Hill Museum.
Rummage Sale
Items of all shapes and sizes, some old, some newer, will be for sale Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the museum office 409 Texas St. Arrive early for the best deals and plan extra time to visit the Cedar Hill Farmer’s Market, one block west at 300 Houston St.
Both events are open at 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All Rummage Sale proceeds benefit the Cedar Hill Museum of History.
